Hosting and provision of the website
Cyberwebhosting, proprietor Marcel Stiller, Grevenweg 72, 20537 Hamburg, is the intended hosting provider for feuchtenhofer.com. Cyberwebhosting states that its servers are located in Hamburg. When a website is accessed, the server processes connection data needed for its operation. This may include the IP address, date and time of access, the page or file requested, the amount of data transferred, browser type, operating system and the referring page, insofar as this information is transmitted by the browser and logged by the server.
Processing serves to deliver the website, operate it securely and detect and resolve faults or misuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is the secure and reliable provision of the website.
The hosting provider may receive this data as part of the technical provision of the site. Plesk is configured to rotate website log files daily, retaining a maximum of seven rotated files. The current file is kept additionally. Actual retention periods may therefore differ. Custom logs and backups may be subject to separate retention rules. The actual storage of additional logs and backups is still being reviewed.
Contact by email
If you email me, I process your email address, the content of your message and any other information you voluntarily provide. I use this data to respond to your enquiry and communicate with you.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is responding to your enquiry. If your enquiry concerns entering into or performing a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR also applies.
I use Microsoft 365 with Exchange Online from Microsoft to operate my email accounts. Technical communications data as well as message content may be processed. Whether data is processed outside the European Economic Area and what safeguards apply are still being reviewed against the configuration and contracts.
I retain your enquiry for as long as needed to process it and for any subsequent communication. Statutory retention duties or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims may require longer storage.
Fonts and external links
The fonts intended for the website are hosted locally and delivered with it. Loading them does not establish a connection to an external font service.
The website contains links to external services, including social networks. A connection to the relevant provider is only established when you open the link. The privacy notices of those services apply to their processing.
Google Analytics and privacy settings
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to analyse usage statistically if you consent. Information about page views, interactions, technical characteristics and the IP address may be processed. Google Analytics uses cookies and may transmit data to Google. Processing helps us better understand use of and content on the website. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, insofar as information is stored on or accessed from your device, Section 25(1) TDDDG.
Google Analytics is loaded only after you consent. You can change your choice or withdraw consent with future effect at any time through “Privacy settings” in the page footer. Your choice is stored locally in your browser.
Use of Google Analytics may involve processing data outside the European Economic Area. The specific contractual bases, recipients and retention periods are still being reviewed against the actual Google account settings and contracts.
Recipients and transfers
Recipients of personal data may include my hosting and email providers and, where necessary, advisers bound by confidentiality or authorities entitled to receive it by law.
Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, and where applicable data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may object to direct marketing at any time.
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, particularly in the place of your habitual residence, your workplace or the alleged infringement. In Hamburg this is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
For privacy questions and to exercise your rights, contact me at privacy@feuchtenhofer.com.
Data security
When accessed over HTTPS, transmission of the website is encrypted. Email is protected in transit depending on the providers involved. This does not automatically provide end-to-end encryption.
Changes
I update this privacy notice when the website, services used or legal requirements change. The published version applies.
